This policy explains what personal information Lewisham Removals collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law.
Lewisham Removals ("we", "us", "our") is a removals firm covering Lewisham and the South-East London SE postcodes. We take the privacy of the people who contact us seriously. This policy sets out how we handle your personal data when you request a quote, fill in a form, or get in touch, and how we comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are

What information we collect
We only ask for what we need to quote for and carry out your move. When you use our quote form or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name;
- Your phone number;
- Your email address;
- Your pickup (collection) address;
- Your drop-off (delivery) address;
- Your preferred moving date, where you give one;
- Any notes you add about the move — for example the size of the job, access, fragile or bulky items, or timing.
We do not ask for special-category data (such as health information) and we would ask you not to include it in the notes field. If you send it to us anyway, we will only use it to help arrange your move.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you give us to prepare your quote, plan and carry out your move, and communicate with you about it. The lawful bases we rely on under UK GDPR are:
- Steps taken at your request and performance of a contract — to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and deliver the removals service you book;
- Legitimate interests — to run our business, keep records of enquiries and jobs, and improve the service, in a way that does not override your rights;
- Legal obligation — where we need to keep certain records, for example for tax and accounting.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we never share it for third-party marketing. We share it only where it is needed to deliver your move:
- With our own moving crew, so they have the addresses, access notes and details needed to carry out the job;
- With trusted customs and transport partners where your move is a European one, so the cross-border paperwork and clearance can be handled;
- With service providers who help us run the website and our systems (for example hosting and email), under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms;
- Where we are required to by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Our website, reCAPTCHA and analytics
Our quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps us tell real enquiries from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis; its use is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device. The information is used to measure things like which pages are visited and how people arrive at the site. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes we collected it for. Quote enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for a limited period so we can follow up and answer any further questions, then deleted. Records relating to completed moves are kept for as long as we need them to meet our legal, accounting and insurance obligations, and then securely disposed of.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and to guard against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Access to your data is limited to the people who need it to do their job.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to erase your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing in certain circumstances;
- Ask us to transfer your data to another provider where that right applies;
- Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.

Complaints
